Kate é uma médica solitária que vai iniciar uma nova vida em Chicago, mas sente saudades da casa à beira de uma lagoa em que viveu. Começa então a corresponder-se com Alex, um arquitecto frustrado que ela pensa ser o novo inquilino da casa. Mas Alex habitou essa casa dois anos antes. Ao perceberem que as cartas que trocam são um elo entre o passado e o presente, Kate e Alex vão tentar deslindar o mistério por trás do romance que os une, antes que seja tarde demais.

PORTUGUESE FEMALE POWER On 20 May 2006 we had the pleasure of spending 48 hours in Portugal adjudicating an attempt on the Guinness World Record for the Largest Human National Flag. The record to beat was set in Scotland earlier this year when 13,254 fans formed the Saltire, the Scottish national flag, at a Scotland v France Six-Nations game at Murrayfield Rugby Club. Held at Lisbon's national stadium, the event was organized by a company called Realizar who had plenty of experience having organized seven other successful Guinness World Records attempts. These include the Largest Hockey Stick, a staggering 56 ft 7 in ( 17.25 m) long, the Largest Human Logo made up of 34,000 people (part of Portugal's successful bid to host the Euro 2004 soccer championships) and the Largest Football with a whopping diameter of 19 ft 10 in (6.06 m)!
