Festival Internacional de Chocolate (Óbidos)


Um mercado tradicional de frutas e legumes em chocolate e esculturas coloridas de personagens de banda desenhada e cinema, como Tintim ou o Homem Aranha, são as novidades deste ano da 5ª edição do Festival do Chocolate de Óbidos, que decorre de 2 a 12 de Novembro.
Outra novidade serão os cenários da Casa do Chocolate, um espaço onde só é permitida a entrada a crianças. Nesta casa, os mais novos poderão retirar e comer chocolate das paredes, mais uma novidade da edição de 2006 do festival. O evento inclui ainda uma passagem de modelos com chocolate e os concursos chocolatier português do ano, peças artísticas ao vivo e internacional de receitas de chocolate.

PORTUGUESE FEMALE POWER On 20 May 2006 we had the pleasure of spending 48 hours in Portugal adjudicating an attempt on the Guinness World Record for the Largest Human National Flag. The record to beat was set in Scotland earlier this year when 13,254 fans formed the Saltire, the Scottish national flag, at a Scotland v France Six-Nations game at Murrayfield Rugby Club. Held at Lisbon's national stadium, the event was organized by a company called Realizar who had plenty of experience having organized seven other successful Guinness World Records attempts. These include the Largest Hockey Stick, a staggering 56 ft 7 in ( 17.25 m) long, the Largest Human Logo made up of 34,000 people (part of Portugal's successful bid to host the Euro 2004 soccer championships) and the Largest Football with a whopping diameter of 19 ft 10 in (6.06 m)!
