Vimeca celebra 75 anos


A Vimeca Transportes, empresa com sede em Queluz de Baixo, celebra hoje 75 anos de existência.
Fundada em 21 de Setembro de 1931 com o nome de Viação Mecânica de Carnaxide, a empresa foi crescendo até se tornar hoje numa empresa de referência pela sua baixa idade média da frota. Do parque herdado da antiga Rodoviária de Lisboa (em 1995 a empresa adquiriu os CATs 3 e 4 e mudou-se de Carnaxide para Queluz de Baixo, e tomou a dimensão com que hoje a conhecemos) já só os Volvo Articulados resistem.

PORTUGUESE FEMALE POWER On 20 May 2006 we had the pleasure of spending 48 hours in Portugal adjudicating an attempt on the Guinness World Record for the Largest Human National Flag. The record to beat was set in Scotland earlier this year when 13,254 fans formed the Saltire, the Scottish national flag, at a Scotland v France Six-Nations game at Murrayfield Rugby Club. Held at Lisbon's national stadium, the event was organized by a company called Realizar who had plenty of experience having organized seven other successful Guinness World Records attempts. These include the Largest Hockey Stick, a staggering 56 ft 7 in ( 17.25 m) long, the Largest Human Logo made up of 34,000 people (part of Portugal's successful bid to host the Euro 2004 soccer championships) and the Largest Football with a whopping diameter of 19 ft 10 in (6.06 m)!
